Prince Edward County Quilters' Guild Elizabeth Norris     The 2006 A Stitch in Time juried quilt show (held in Picton on July 8th & 9th) selected Elizabeth Norris as its recipient of the OQC ribbon for her large wall hanging was entitled "Summer". It was machine pieced and quilted, featuring log cabin blocks, appliqué and ribbon embroidery on the flowers. She was inspired by a quilt featuring dahlias in Better Homes and Gardens and interpreted her rendition in poppies. As poppies seed beyond the borders of the garden, so poppy blossoms went beyond the inner border of the quilt as the flowers tumble over the edge. Elizabeth selected vibrant colours for her award winning wall hanging. She machine quilted flower-like petals of different shapes over her quilt.
